The challenge
Gibson Painting is a fifth-generation, family-owned painting and construction company. As it transitioned from a small business to a midsize enterprise, the company needed well-defined processes across sales, HR, front office, and operations to support efficiency, consistency, and scalable growth. Gibson Painting chose DevDocs to document and streamline existing processes, create SOPs for undocumented work, and modernize outdated tools and practices.
What we did
DevDocs audited Gibson Painting's existing documentation and processes, then created reusable templates to standardize future process and procedure documents. Working remotely with subject-matter experts, the team documented essential workflows including sales lead identification, proposal generation, bid submission, hiring, training, and scheduling. During the audit, DevDocs also identified HR inefficiencies, recommended and implemented Knowify, and created custom documentation for its setup and daily operation.
Outcome
DevDocs documented more than 50 key SOPs and delivered significant process-improvement recommendations. Reusable templates made the documentation program more efficient and consistent, positioning Gibson Painting to double its workforce and train 100 new employees.
